Luxury short-term rentals in historic downtown Frederick, MD

Favorite Downtown Restaurants

Frederick has so many wonderful restaurants downtown.

Other than a few fast food/snack places, the downtown eating establishments are independently owned and most are single location venues.  The chains (and we DO have them) are located near the malls and strip shopping centers.

Here are links to a few of our favorites, all within walking distance of our vacation homes.

Il Porto - the closest restaurant to the Artist's House - fantastic Italian cuisine and service!
Cacique, one of our favorite places to dine. Great Spanish and Mexican cuisine and the best people-watching street-side seating in town!
Magoo's Pub and Eatery - Frederick's former mayor owns this Irish pub with a warm, casual ambiance and reasonable prices
The two faces of Firestone's - a good place to eat and, after dinner, a meet and mingle club with live music.
Pretzel & Pizza Creations - open from breakfast until late (3 am on weekends)
Gladchuk Brothers' Restaurant - a few steps from The Traveler's House & one of the best kept secrets in town. Where the locals eat - consistently good food.
Mexicali Cantina - 100 steps from The Traveler's House and always filled with happy diners! Great food at great prices!
Volt Restaurant - one of the many wonderful downtown establishments that puts Frederick on the world's "We've Gotta Go There Radar!" Dining at Volt (especially at coveted "Table 21") is a vacation in its own right!
Brewer's Alley (restaurant & microbrewery) - good food, entertainment and beer, plus seasonal outdoor seating.
Wine Kitchen - new restaurant along Carroll Creek with interesting wine flights and good accompanying mini meals.
Sumittra - one of our new favorites downtown - tasty and well presented Thai cuisine.
Acacia's Main Dining Room

Consistently reliable upscale dining in an unassuming row house on North Market Street.

Isabella's - Fredericks Only Tapas Bar - good drinks and interesting bites.
Family Meal - an upscale diner run by Brian Voltaggio, owner of Volt. Traditional American cuisine with a definite twist!
Cafe Nola, a cafe, coffee house and bar, with some of the most interesting music in town!
The Tasting Room - home of great martinis and creative appetizers!
Market Bagel & Deli - a convenient location for a quick breakfast or lunch. Owned by the current mayor of Frederick.
Wag's Restaurant - an unassuming little pub "8 steps below the competition" with the best quality burger in town
